Bulk Import Assessment FAQ
What stage are assessments imported in?
After being imported, the assessments will be in the In Process stage.
Why import the assessments in the In Progress stage?
We do not allow Data Subject Elements (DSE) or Risk Attribute Control questions in the import.
New inventory is created when assessment is moved to the Under Review stage.
Attribute values of inventory are updated when an assessment moves to the Completed stage.
Can I add required attachments?
Yes. Required Attachments can be added on questions in OneTrust, but not in Excel.
Can I leave comments?
Yes. Comments can be added on questions in OneTrust, but not in Excel.
What question types are supported in the Bulk Assessment Import?

Control Attributes and Assess Control question types are not supported by bulk import.
Attribute-type questions do not pre-populate when imported.
How do I see what my options are for questions with specific answer options?
All available answer options will show within the Second Tab of the Excel file you download.
How do you format a single multi-select, multi-choice questions?
Go to the Second Tab of the Excel file.
Locate the corresponding column to the question you are answering.
Review the options in the column.
Copy/paste the option you want into the First Tab of the Excel file.
How do you format a multi-select, multi-choice question?
Each option should be separated by a comma.
How do you format attributes for inventory options (Single inventory or a primary record)?
Each option should be separated by a comma.
Example: Attribute 1, Attribute 2, Attribute 3, etc.
Do the answers I import show in the question activity stream?
Yes - The answers generated from the import will show in the activity. The user who performed the import would be attributed as the user who answered that question.
Are any notifications triggered when importing assessments in bulk? If the answer is Yes, what are the relevant templates?
Yes - The relevant templates are Bulk Insert Import Assessments Complete and Assessment Assigned.
Can you bulk import assessments with newly created inventory or primary records?
No - Users are unable to create new primary or inventory records through the bulk import assessments feature.
Is it possible to provide responses to a read-only question using the Bulk Import Assessment template?
No. Read-only questions display existing inventory values. During bulk import, inventory attributes are updated via the assessment, which is not possible with read-only fields.
